Mahendra Ahirwar is a 13-year-old boy whose health condition has been troubling his parents for the past 13 years since his birth. He was born with his head hanging and unable to be upright.

His parents have spent huge sums of money, hoping for their him to get better.

Mahendra’s health condition was described by doctors as, Congenital Myopathy. Congenital Myopathy is a severe health condition that affects the neck bones. They become weak to a point that they cannot support the neck to stand upright.

Now, the boy has undergone a life-changing surgery by a former NHS surgeon after a mother-of-two from Liverpool set up a crowd-funding page to raise money for Mahendra’s treatment. Spinal surgeon, Dr. Rajagopalan Krishnan, who is from Apollo Hospital in Delhi, performed the operation.

Jones was touched when she heard the story of Mahendra. She then, set up an account with the crowd-funding site and within the first 28 days of the operation of the account, he was able to raise £12,000.

Jones flew all the way to Delhi, where she met Mahendra and his parents in the hospital for the first time. She says, the love was massive. The surgery was successful and he spent two weeks in the hospital before getting discharged
