Disturbing reason condemned prisoners have their eyes covered during electric chair execution

Though controversial, the death sentence is arguably one of the oldest method applied by humans in an attempt to bring order and justice.

It's a method that is backed by the law and even found in the Bible. Eye for an eye! Tooth for a tooth. In most cases, these sentence is given to people believed to have killed innocent people.

In Kenya, death sentence is real and even though actual executions ceased decades ago, judges still condemn people to the gallows.

In Kenya, the sentence is done through hanging. In USA, there are several methods including lethal injection and electric chair. Let's talk about the latter.

The electric chair was once considered the most human method to execute convicted criminals but after more research, this not seems to be the case anymore.

Reports have revealed disturbing details on what actually transpired. People have been known to go up in flames which simply means one is barbequed alive.

Even more shocking is the fact that the high voltage involved is known to cause the body to swell excessively to the extent that eyeballs pop out from their head sockets.

If not so, the high temperature can result to eyeballs melting and to tackle these, condemned prisoners have eyes covered by tape just before execution.
