The federal government of Nigeria through the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has brought out new guildline to all network providers in the country, MTN, GLO, AIRTEL and other telecommunications operators in the country in order to help curb insecurity in the country.
The NCC have given a minimum of two weeks to all simcard subscribers to abide by the new development or else false the consequences by disconnection of their line.
The Nigerian telecommunications commission (NCC) emphasized that any simcard in Nigeria that is not registered with the National Identity Numbers (NIN) should be blocked after the end of the two weeks given.
For those already who have already registered in the National identify number, you can confirm if your number is registered through your mobile phone as stated by Bashir Ahmed
He wrote ;
"As the NCC gave telecommunications operators (MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile and others) two weeks to block all SIM cards that are not linked with the National Identity Numbers (NIN), if already enrolled, dial *346# to retrieve your NIN, as we await details from NCC/telecoms. SHARE!
After dialing the code *346#, a message will display which will cost you just a token of #20 and once it is deducted from your balance and you will be know if your number is registered with NIN.
