After he did surgery to stop his growth years ago, see how he ended up

Sultan Kosen, a 35-year-old from Turkey, is the world's tallest man at eight feet and one inch tall.

Kosen also holds the record for largest hands on a living person. His measure 11.2 inches from the wrist to the tip of his middle finger.

Mr Kosen's condition was thought to have been caused by a tumor in the pituitary gland which is located in bottom of the hypothalamus at the base of the brain.

He eventually underwent noninvasive gamma knife surgery in August 2010 at the UVA Medical Center. It seems that it was successful and he has stopped growing.

During a visit to Britain 10 years ago, Mr Kosen said: ‘The kids used to tease me and I found that very difficult. But now I am really proud of being tall.’

During his first ever visit to London, UK, in September 2009, Sultan expressed hope that his newfound fame would change his life, and help him find a wife.

And he did found a wife, see their wedding photos below
