See phone number to call if you encounter a corrupt Lagos Police officer

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, Iheanachor Ifeanyi Omuta, has released his phone number and asked Lagosians to call him directly if they ever encounter a corrupt Lagos police officer who attempts to extort money from them.

The phone number to call is 08036994334.

Iheanachor Omuta tweeted this:

“08036994334. I don talk am before, I wan talk am again. My country people abeg if any police wan harass una, make una no gree give anybody any money until una call me because dis tin don too much😡😤 @segalink @RuggedyBaba helep me tell them too.”

Iheanachor also added:
No police officer has any right to harass, assault or brutalize any one.
    My thoughts:
Imagine our dear Nigeria rated “the safest and best policed country”. It’s doable with the right reforms, effective implementations and public-private partnership (community policing). We actually can “Claim the 21st Century”.

Follow us, support us and share information with the Lagos State Police Command on our social media platforms. @policenglagos on twitter, instagram and facebook

Clear pictures of the individual(s) without putting yourself at risk, proper description of the individual(s), help a lot on our end in identifying policemen that harass Lagosians.

Never agree to give any policeman any money on the streets of Lagos. #seesomethingsaysomething

Here to play my part in building our beloved city, Lagos and our great country Nigeria.

In keeping with the promise the Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi made to the good people of Lagos state on assumption of office, that there will be no room for any indisciplined, corrupt Lagos police officer under his watch; the Lagos State Police Command released to the general public earlier this year the breakdown in figures, of corrupt Lagos police officers who were punished for various disciplinary offences between the months of September and December 2017.

Nine(9) officers were dismissed for offences ranging from discreditable conduct, corrupt practice, disobedience to lawful order and falsehood.
Twenty five(25) were reduced in rank for offences ranging from gross insubordination, drunkenness, incivility to members of the public and leaving beat.
A total of sixty (60) Inspectors and rank and files were awarded the punishments of Major and minor entries.

The Commissioner of Police said the punishments handed down to the unruly officers would serve as deterrent to others who may wish to toe the path of ignominy. He stated further that officers who play by the rules had nothing to fear and would be encouraged.

Meanwhile, Iheanachor Omuta is a happily married man. Here are loved up pictures he shared on his social media pages to celebrate his wife and their 1 year old marriage.
